Larry Slack

Larry Lee Slack 72, of Mattawan Michigan, passed away surrounded by family 11/3/2020 at Bronson hospital in Kalamazoo Michigan. Larry was born to Percy and Sarah Slack at Bronson hospital, in Kalamazoo Michigan on 10/29/1948. Larry was an instrumentation tech and contracted with DWSD in Detroit Michigan for the last 20 years. Larry loved being in nature, especially with his animals, and was an avid photographer. Family was most important to Larry, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was always there to give them advice, have a laugh, or just offer a hug. He enjoyed learning about other cultures, religions, and always made an effort to honestly understand and accept each person he met. He was a kind and gentle soul who always was willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who would ask him. Larry touched many lives, he is a valued treasure that will be truly missed by all. He is survived by his children, Benjamin Slack, Chavala Welch, and Emilie Higbee. Grandchildren Cody Slack, Julian Slack, Lilian Slack, and Kelsey Slack. He was preceded in death by his parents Percy and Sarah Slack, brothers Carl Slack, Harold Hoffman, Wayne Hoffman, Percy Mayfield, sister Lucille Dunlap, and his beloved dog Sami. Services will be held in the spring of 2021 due to gathering restrictions at this time.
