Larry Meabon

Meabon, Larry R. 11/3/1950 - 9/2/2016 Mattawan Went to be with the Lord Friday, September 2, 2016 in Kalamazoo. Larry was born November 3, 1950 in South Haven, the son of Elmer and Ruth Meabon and had lived in the Mattawan area the past 24 years. Larry worked until retirement in December, 2015 at Knouse Foods where he served as a Sanitation Engineer. Larry loved western movies, especially those featuring John Wayne. He also enjoyed doing flea markets on the weekends. In his younger days he also loved spending time hunting and fishing. Surviving is his mother, Ruth; siblings, Suanne Cox of Charleston, SC, Dale Meabon of Mattawan, Darrell Meabon of Kalamazoo, Sharon (Randy Hay) Meabon of Paw Paw; nieces and nephews, Cullen (Melinda) Cox, Cyle (Amy) Cox, Jacinda (John) Farrell, Mandy (Ifeanyi) Chiejina, Ronald Hoard, Chelsi Hoard, Nasa Chiejina and Amaka Chiejina. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer, and a brother, Ronald Meabon. The family will meet friends on Thursday from 5-8 PM at the Bangor Chapel, D. L. Miller Funeral Home, www.dlmillerfuneralhome.com, where funeral services will take place Friday at 11 AM. Internment will follow in Arlington Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
