Harton, Larry J. 10/27/1949 - 11/6/2022 Paw Paw, MI Larry Harton, 73, of Paw Paw, went into the arms of his Savior on November 6, 2022, at his home. He was a beloved grandfather and father, a faithful husband, and a Christian. Larry was born on October 27, 1949, in Jackson, Michigan, and was chosen and adopted by James Clifford and Ruth Anna (Gary) Harton, of Vandercook Lake, Michigan. These parents loved and supported their only child, and enjoyed attending Larry's many sporting events throughout his years at Vandercook Lake Schools where he excelled in wrestling, baseball, basketball and football. The Harton family attended Vandercook Baptist Church. They also enjoyed traveling to Canada to visit relatives, and camping near the beaches of Ludington. As an adult, he coached sport leagues for Loomis Park Baptist Church where he also served as groundskeeper, deacon and Commander of Awana. He was an avid fisherman and golfer. After working in construction most of his younger adult life, he worked for the United States Postal Service in Jackson, Michigan for several years. Larry was married to Leanna Pickett Brewer of Paw Paw on September 5, 1998 in Bloomingdale, Michigan. They were married 24 years and enjoyed refurbishing their old farmhouse, gardening, and best of all, spending time with children and grandchildren. He leaves behind his wife, and two children, Cara (Mike Bolhuis) Brewer of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Damon (Jessica Seigler) Brewer of Roanoke, Virginia. He will also be missed by his six grandchildren Penelope, Daylen, Eli, Carter, Claire, and Vincent. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a baby brother, Gary Harton. Larry's legacy is one of faithfulness and a servant heart to his church, his family and to God. He loved all children. His Awana kids and those with special needs were especially dear to him. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. Memorial services will be held in the Commons (Entrance A) at Freshwater Community Church, 600 E. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw, on Friday, November 11, 2022. Visitation will begin at two o'clock, with a memorial service following at three o'clock. Private family graveside service will take place at Wildey Cemetery in Paw Paw. Memorial donations may be made to Centrica Care Hospice, Kalamazoo, or Freshwater Community Church, Paw Paw.
