Haas, LaVern D. Pastor LaVern Haas, age 93, loving husband, father, "Poppy", and friend was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Vern was born December 10, 1927 in Kalamazoo, MI. A World War II veteran, he was in business with his father at Bob Haas Dairy before becoming an ordained evangelist in the Christian Reformed Church. He was a faithful servant, pastoring congregations in Bravo, Howard City, Grant, and Marne MI. In his retirement he lovingly ministered as chaplain at Kent Community Hospital for 23 years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, JoAnn; one grandson and one great grandson. Surviving are his children, Linda (Jim) Clark, Barb (Bill) Willink, Carol (Greg) Scott, Mary (Bruce) DenBesten, Jeanne (Rick) Nagy; 37 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. According to his wishes there will be a private family celebration of life service at a later date. Interment Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park, Kalamazoo.
