Johansen, Kurt 11/22/1955 - 11/25/2021 Sturgis Kurt Randall Johansen age 66 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away early Thursday morning November 25, 2021 at the Ascension Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He was born November 22, 1955 in Three Rivers, Michigan, son of the late Arthur and Alice L. (Stahly) Johansen. Kurt resided in Sturgis since 1985 coming from Constantine where he was a graduate of Constantine High School with the class of 1974. On August 14, 1982 he married Mary McKelvey in Constantine. Kurt was very talented in the art of auto body repair and painting. For several years he and Mary owned and operated Auto Craft Body and Paint in Sturgis and he had been employed by D & A Auto Body in Kalamazoo and Red Shed Auto Body in White Pigeon. He was a member of the Ford Falcon Club of Michigan and the Constantine Alumni Association. Kurt enjoyed going to the Shipshewana Auction, swap meets, model and slot car shows and he was a loyal fan of the Detroit Lions. He is survived by his wife: Mary; one daughter: Alicia Johansen of Coldwater; one son: Josh (Hillary) Johansen of Lafayette, Indiana; one sister: Jodi Johansen of Constantine; one brother: Lon (Suzanne) Johansen of Florida and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with Kurt's wishes cremation has taken place. The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Hackman Chapel of Hackman Family Funeral Homes, 114 S. Nottawa St. in Sturgis. A memorial service celebrating and honoring the life of Kurt R. Johansen will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at the Sturgis Church of the Nazarene in Sturgis. Pastor Jeremy Ellis will officiate. The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial donation in Kurt's' memory consider the Hospital Hospitality House of S.W. Michigan, 828 S.
