Krisan Fluckey

Krisan Fluckey was born to Alberta and Roscoe Fluckey on May 29, 1945 and died on July 30, 2017 at the age of 72 after succumbing to a very aggressive form of cancer. Her luminous smile, generous spirit, and gentle soul will be missed by all who loved her. Krisan grew up in Plymouth, graduating from high school with the great class of 1963. She went on to earn her degrees at Western Michigan, and for 30 years she taught children with hearing and speech difficulties in the Kalamazoo school system. Krisan was an active member of Unity Church in Kalamazoo. She married her college sweetheart, Tom Adams after many years apart, and cared and nurtured him after his diagnosis of dementia. They enjoyed summer vacations in Vermont and spring trips to South Carolina for years. Krisan leaves behind her husband Tom, of Rutland, Vermont, sister, Rhea, and niece Krisan Smith, both of Albuquerque, and her brother, Regan of the Detroit area. Other close family members are Judy Adams Meadows and Bruce Meadows, of Helena, Montana, and Sharon Wolf and Jon Adams of Southfield. Jon and Sharon cared for Krisan during her final two months. Krisan also leaves countless friends and colleagues in Kalamazoo. A memorial service for Krisan will be held at noon on October 20th at Unity Church, 1204 Whites Rd, Kalamazoo.
