Kevin Howard Mauer, age 45, passed away Friday, July 7, 2017 in Waushara County, resulting from a drowning accident. He was born in Racine, October 22, 1971, son of William and Carol (Nee: Miller) Mauer.

Kevin attended St. Rita’s Grade School and graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1989”. He went on to earn a Bachelors of Art Degree from the University of Wisconsin Parkside and two Masters Degrees from Indiana University: Lighting Design in the Theatre, and Information Technology. Kevin was employed by the Indiana University Foundation working in IT, computer programing and web development. Kevin enjoyed fitness, was an avid runner and an active member of AA. He had a deep faith and practiced that faith as a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Bloomington. He was always giving of himself and was a natural in meeting and making friends. He was proud to sponsor a child overseas through the Unbound Child Charity. Kevin was a beloved father, son and brother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his daughter, Harmony; parents, Bill and Carol Mauer of Racine; brother, David W. Mauer (Kelly) of Machesney Park, IL; former wife and friend, Stephanie Reaves; special friends, Donna and Steve Heady, Lee and Debbie Simono; cousins and many other dear friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Dorothy Miller, Richard and Agnes Mauer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 15, 2017, 10:30 A.M. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St with Rev. Ken Mich officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church, 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Memorials to Unbound Child Sponsorship Charity, the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, St. Charles Borromeo Parish,2222 E. 3rd Street, Bloomington, IN, or the Epilepsy Foundation have been suggested.
