Kenneth Patrick Soper of Traverse City, MI, passed away on Wednesday March 6, 2024 at the age of 63. Ken was born on March 17, 1960 in Mt. Pleasant, MI to Diane R. Block. Ken was raised in Traverse City, where he was active in scouting, football and wrestling.

Ken graduated from Traverse City Senior High School in 1978 and then went on to graduate from Ferris State University, with a Degree in Architecture.

Ken was self-employed, owning “Block Builders”, as a residential contractor.

Ken loved to hunt, fish, boat and bicycle around Michigan with family and friend’s. Ken was a member of the “Isabella Hunting Camp” on the Tahquamenon River in the UP, which was established in 1948.

Ken is survived by his son, Remington Soper; step-son, Noah Parker; parents, Roger and Diane Stocking; brother’s, Lesly (Sylvia) McCorkle, Todd (Laurie) McCorkle; sister, Kathy (Tim) Strong and 11 adopted siblings.

Ken was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Mildred Block; uncle, Thomas Block and aunt, Janice Hinds.

Contributions may be payable to his brother Lesly McCorkle for the benefit of Ken’s son, Remington “Remy” Soper.

An informal gathering will take place from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, Thursday, March 14, 2024 at Life Story Funeral Home, 400 Hammond Road W. in Traverse City. A Celebration of Life will start at 4:00 pm. Friends and family may join us there to celebrate Ken.
