Kenneth A. Maxam went to be with his Lord on April 25, 2022, age 82, at Bronson Commons in Mattawan from complications of renal disease and cancer. Ken was born March 22, 1940, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo, the only son of Frederick and Alta (Cory) Maxam. He graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School "Old Central" in 1958. Following graduation, he attended Western Michigan University in engineering. On September 15, 1962 Ken was united in marriage to Elizabeth C. Boodt in Breedsville, Michigan. They had 34 years together and raised 3 children. Ken was a founding member of the Kalamazoo Antique Auto Restorers Club (KAARC) joining in 1963 and received his 50 year award in 2013. He owned many Chevys, with his last pride and joy being a red and white 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air. Primarily a "Chevy Guy", he was only known to have ever owned three Fords. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Elizabeth "Betty" Maxam. Ken is survived by his children: Kimberly Maxam of Schoolcraft; Keith (Sarah) Maxam of Parchment; Kevin (Stacy) Maxam of Paw Paw; and daughter-in-law: Laurie Maxam of Otsego, grandchildren: Vicky Maxam, Brandon (Britni) Maxam, Kyle (Bree) Maxam, Jordan Maxam, Kassondra (James) Flynn, Brooke (Nick) Munster, and six great-grandchildren. In accordance with Ken's wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of his life will be held at the Almena United Methodist Church, 27503 CR375, Paw Paw, MI 49079 on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Len Schoenherr officiating. A time of food and fellowship will be held following the service.
