Kenneth Lamar Martin, age 52, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Racine, WI, August 30, 1971, son of Joe L. Martin and Wanda (Nee: Lambert) Martin.

Kenneth, affectionately known as “Peachy”; the self-proclaimed icon legendary of Racine, attended Wm. Horlick High School, “Class of 1990”. He was person who never met a stranger, a trait who he received from his mother. Peachy enjoyed socializing with his family and friends. He was known for his dancing, goofiness with his jokes, laughter, cleaning and decorating skills. Peachy willingness & passion to help anyone in need, even when he was in need, is unmatched. Let’s not forget Peachy loved hosting Taco Tuesday (on live Facebook) feeding whoever was willing to come.

“I got it going on…” His favorite saying will forever live on. Peachy was a true gem and hardworking man who worked in housekeeping at Ascension for several years here in Racine, previously Chartwells 11 years, in Adrian, Michigan. Lastly being employed with Serenity on Osborne, and Senior Helpers of Racine. His dedication to Senior Helpers, & residents did not go unnoticed. He proudly boasted about being employee of the month receiving monetary gifts from his supervisor to show their appreciation. Peachy will be truly missed.

Surviving to cherish his memory is his father, Joe L. Martin; sisters and brothers, Joanne Martin, Andre Martin, Demario Martin, Shina (Eric) Vidalez-Hollins, Dianne Vidalez, Ramon Vidalez III, Tamie Damon; 9 nieces and nephews; 17 great nieces and great nephews; a host of aunts and uncles, cousins; and special friends, Tammy Pitt, Buffy Moreno, Norma Grayer, Sheila Clark of Adrian, MI. Very very special friends: Ann McGee, Rosie Carter /family, Sharon Garza, Gail McWhorter, Dorothy Bizzle “Dot”, & Doris Walker, “Ma”.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Wanda M. Martin, (father) Ramon Vidalez, his sister, Yvette Martin, maternal grandparents, John & Murlia Lambert, fraternal grandparents Curtis and Leila Martin, Maria T. Gonzalez. His uncles Ron Christopher, Lonnie Earl, James Oliver, & Benny Lambert, special cousin Latiesha Lambert.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Friday, April 19, 2024, with the viewing from 11am -1 pm, the start time of service. with Johnny Ford officiating. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at https://www.facebook.com/meredithfuneralhome/
