Horton, Keith Allegan Our beloved brother, dad, grandfather, uncle and friend, Keith Burton Horton 69, of Allegan, Michigan, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2022. He was born in Allegan, Michigan on December 12th, 1952 shortly after his twin brother, Ken. Keith was one of the kindest, most loving and considerate men we all knew. He was an incredibly hard worker, despite dealing with the lifelong effects of having polio. With the help of his wife, friends and family, Keith built his family's dream home in Otsego, MI, which was a lifelong goal for him. For nearly 20 years, he proudly led union crews of pipelayers as the Head Foreman for construction projects in some of the largest hospitals and commercial buildings in Southwest Michigan. Keith believed in a job well done and earned a reputation as an integral man to be relied on. Keith absolutely loved being outdoors to hunt, fish, relax and appreciate the peacefulness of nature. He grew large gardens, raised livestock, made candles, painted and was a wonderfully original craftsman, carving wooden folk art and Harry Potter wands for his children and grandkids. Keith loved music, was a wonderfully creative cook, was always up for a game of cards and loved spending time with people to share stories. He loved to travel with his family to the Bahamas, Mexico or anywhere sunny and relaxing. We can picture him now with a rum and coke by the water's edge, tapping his toe to a beat playing nearby. Keith is survived by many people who love him, including his brothers Phil (Sue), Greg (Cindy), Ken (Mary), Jim (Linda) and sister Carol (Dan Jackson), his children Liz and Jenni Evans, Virginia Johns (DJ), Ryan Sutton, his grandchildren, Ian McCabe, David, Ava and Andrew Johns and his many nieces and nephews. Preceding his passing, were his beloved wife, Caren, his younger brother Charlie and his parents, Charles and Mary Horton. Keith's ashes will be spread in a private celebration of life at the family's hunting property in Allegan, MI.
