Kay Mansens

Kay "Klaziena" Mansens, age 93, of Kalamazoo, MI went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, August 21, 2016. Age 93. Kay was born in Delfzijl, Netherlands on January 21, 1923, the daughter of the late Derk and Hindriktje (Kappen) Leertouwer. She was a current member of Covenant United Reformed Church. She was a former member of Second Christian Reformed Church, Heritage Christian Reformed Church and Comstock Christian Reformed Church. She loved to read and study her Bible. Most of all, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. She was united in marriage to Derk Mansens on October 17, 1950; he preceded her in death on April 22, 1994. She is survived by her children, Henny & Michael Rose and Ellen & Michael Hagerty; grandchildren, Derk Benitez, Eric Benitez & Michelle Warnicke and her family and Meagan & Todd Entingh; great-grandchildren, Hunter & Preston Benitez and Ryan Entingh; a sister-in-law, Trijntje Haan-Mansens; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Siets (Rieks) Tuinier; and a brother, Hendrik (Diena) Leertouwer. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 25th at Covenant United Reformed Church, 3724 Lovers Lane, Kalamazoo, MI 49001, with Pastor Jeremy Veldman officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 10 a.m. until time of the service. Private interment will take place in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park, South. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Reformed Heritage Christian School or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements by Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel.
