Kathleen Izenbaard

Izenbaard, Kathleen Kathleen Marie Izenbaard, age 88, passed away January 3, 2023. She was born April 23, 1934 in Kalamazoo to the late Harry W. and Cora M. (Lemmer) Morgan. Kathleen lived to glorify her Lord in everything she did. She was a prayer warrior and prayed without ceasing. She was a homemaker, caretaker, cleaning lady (even nick named Aunt Clean from a nephew) and world traveler. She loved visiting Israel and Greece to walk where Jesus and Paul walked. She loved her children but REALLY loved her grandchildren. Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; two daughters, Jan Gernaat and Carol Hamminga; grandson, Eric Izenbaard; brother, William Morgan; and two sisters, June Kloosterman and Christal Delger. She is survived by her children, Tim (Karin) Izenbaard, Jim (Kathy) Izenbaard, Maria (Richard) Reinbold, son-in-law, Tom Gernaat; grandchildren: Kristin (Jason) Guhl, Carrie (Jeff) Watson, Nicole (Kevin) Sampson, Danielle (Craig) Lackie, Matthew (Melissa) Izenbaard, Alexandra Aguilar, Dana Rojo, Emily (AJ) Tumminello, Heather (Dustin) Doroh, Jonathan (Joy) Reinbold, and Victoria Reinbold; and great-grandchildren: Alanah, Kaylyn, Audrey, Elyse, Clara, Patrick, Erin, Olivia, Max, Adilynn, Charlotte, Sarah, Obadiah, Isabella, Amelia, Killian, and John. A special thank you to Kalena Adams and family at Living Waters AFC for loving Kathleen and taking care of her as one of their own. A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 7 at 11:00am at Second Christian Reformed Church, 3015 Nichols Rd, Kalamazoo, MI 49004, where the family will greet friends from 9:30am to 11:00am prior to the service. A private committal ceremony will be held for the family at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park South. Donations in Kathleen's memory may be made to Alternatives of Kalamazoo or the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission.
