Katherine "Kat" White, age 54, of Kalamazoo, MI formerly of Dowagiac, MI, went home to Glory on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at her home. A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at the Dowagiac Second Baptist Church, 203 N. Paul St, Dowagiac, MI., with Rev. Tonnie Blackamore officiating. Friends may visit from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to the family in care of Lawanda White-Walker. Those wishing to share a memory of Katherine "Kat" online may do so at www.clarkch.com. Kat was born June 19, 1962 in Berrien Springs, MI, to BC Holloman and Mary Lou White Woods. Kat's greatest wish was to come back home a final time. Although she lived in Kalamazoo for the last several years, Dowagiac was always home to her, she was proud of the little town she grew up in. Kat was a strong woman always had a smile on her face and a funny story to tell. She loved her family and her friends, most of all she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Kat was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Kalamazoo. Kat is survived by her mother, Mary Lou White Woods of Dowagiac; her children, Lawanda White of Kalamazoo, Teresa White of Charlotte, NC, Walter (Ashley) White, Adrian White and Antonio White all of Kalamazoo and Curtiya Dade; grandchildren, Jewvar Walker Jr., Damian Calloway, Devonte Woods-White, Essence White, Destiny White, Desarae White, Mya White, Walter White III and Adriona White; great-grandchildren, Anysia Mayrose Dentler-Bagley, Lillyanna Eliane Dewart and Phoenix Kay Jamarie Dewart; siblings, Lee White, Dale White, Janet (Tim) Tucker, Judy White, Joe Woods, Zelma (Jevon Bomer) Woods, Helen Holloman and Rachael Woods; a host of nieces and nephews, special friends, Ann Buck and Christine Nickens; extra special friend, Juanita Macon. She was preceded in death by her father, BC Holloman; sister, Peggy Jean Woods and special friend, Robin Nickens.
