Katherine (Kate) Geishart-Grosser, 105-years old, passed away at Fountain View Assisted Living on Monday, May 25, 2020. Kate was born on October 25, 1914, to Andro and Frances (Shafer) Zager in Calumet, MI. Kate graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1933. In 1940 Kate married George Geishart. Kate and George had two sons Douglas and James. They owned and operated George's Market in Kalamazoo. George passed away in 1963. In 1969 Kate married Joseph Grosser. Kate and Joe enjoyed woodworking, and during their married life their shop created and sold hundreds of rocking horses, giraffes, bug boxes and many other items. Joe passed away in 1981. Joe's wonderful family has been a great support of Kate for all the remaining years of her life. Kate is survived by her sons Douglas (Marianne) Geishart of The Villages, FL; James (Patricia) Geishart of Portage, MI; step-daughter Mary Lubbert of Kissimmee, FL, grandchildren Michelle Geishart-Reiners of Ocala, FL; Richard (Lisa) Geishart of Snowmass Village, CO; step-granddaughters Cindy (Gordon) Evey of Portage, MI; Meri (Keith) McGregor of Shelby Township, MI; and many great-grandchildren. In addition to her surviving family, Kate has had one constant for the past 85 years. Nellie O. Yoder of Elkhart, IN has been Kate's dearest friend. Both ladies worked together tying flies for bait companies, and they raised their children together always maintaining their friendship. Nellie and Kate had an opportunity to see each other for the last time in March to celebrate Nellie's 105th birthday in Elkhart, IN. Kate was preceded in death by husbands George Geishart, Joseph Grosser, step-daughter, Joyce (Lawrence) Grosser-Thomas, and step-son, Joe (Judy) Grosser; step-granddaughter Robin (Dennis) Thomas-Foss.
