Hunt, Joyce Lynn 3/7/1954 - 9/1/2022 Gobles Joyce (Hiemstra) Hunt, 68, passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2022 of complications from Multiple Myeloma. Family and friends were by her side. Born March 7, 1954, Joyce grew up in Alamo and graduated from Otsego High School in 1972. She resided in Gobles for 47 years as a homemaker and bookkeeper and where she raised her two children whom she was immensely proud of. Joyce was a very kind personto strangers, friends, and most of all her family, whom she loved with all her heart, especially her grandchildren. She had many long time friends and took great pleasure in helping organize class reunions which she always looked forward to. She was a cat whisperer. She could turn away no cat who showed up at her door. Over the years she had many dogs, birds, fish, and once even tamed a raccoon. Joyce enjoyed music, word puzzles, curating her secret garden, and highly detailed crafts like String Art and Diamond Art. She is survived by her son Nathan Hiemstra, daughter Kirsten (Derek) Haroldson, grandchildren Dean and Eleanor, siblings Roger (Janet) Hiemstra, Carl (Bonnie) Hiemstra, Judy Hiemstra, Carol (Juan) Paez, Dennis (Mickie) Hiemstra, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents Claude and Frances (Anson) Hiemstra, two sisters-in-law, Bonnie and Mickie Hiemstra. A memorial will be held Oct. 8, 2022 at the Otsego VFH Hall, 124 N Farmer St. Is tentatively planned for 10:00AM - 12:00PM, though you might confirm with the family or VFW Hall closer to the date.
