Joseph Nicholas Buttera, age 80, passed away Thursday April 4, 2024. Joseph was born in Kenosha on October 19, 1943, son of the late Nicholas and Stella (nee: Krosky) Buttera.

Joe was employed with JI Case for over thirty years before retiring. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved raising and training beagles through the years.

Survivors include his children, Ruthann Williams of Kenosha and Nicholas (Lisa) Buttera of Appleton; grandchild, Thea and her sons, Leo and Solomon; sisters, Florence Hammelev and Michaeleen “Mickey” Hernandez; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Joe was also preceded in death by his wife, Rose in 1992, brothers, Leonard, Charles and Nicholas; and sister, Rita (Don) Hoefling.

We would also like to express our heartfelt gratitude to all the hospice workers from St. Croix Hospice. You are truly God’s helpers!

Relatives and friends may meet with the family for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Private entombment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32.
