Joseph David Butler, age 95, passed away Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Elizabeth Gardens. He was born in Camden, NJ, June 19, 1920 son of the late John and Edith (Nee: Rasmussen) Butler.

Joe graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1938”. On October 24, 1941, at First Presbyterian Church he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Graves. Joe served his country in the U.S. Navy in both WWII and Korea. He was employed by S.C. Johnson for 43 years, retiring in 1981. Joe was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church where he also served as an elder and a deacon. He was a member of Masonic Lodge, Johnson Wax Twenty Year Club and the SC Johnson Fishing Club. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his daughter, Barbara (Roger) Nunet; son, Jay (Luann) Butler; grandsons, Stephen Nunet and special friend Donna Klibowitz, John (Dominique Beaudin) Nunet; great grandsons, Christopher and Alex and a soon to be grandson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James (Evelyn) Graves; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Jane on October 15, 2001.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 29, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel with Reverend Steve Fringer officiating. Interment will follow. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church or Hospice Alliance have been suggested.
