Jon Wesley Orr

79, of Fort Myers, FL, passed away on 2/24/2020 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Born 1/24/1941 in Lansing, MI, he later moved to Grand Rapids, MI. Jon graduated from Union High School in Grand Rapids and graduated from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI in 1964. Jon worked for Zellerbach, a division of Mead Corp. for 30 years as controller and in sales. He retired to Fort Myers, FL in 2000. He married the love of his life and best friend, Kathy Montgomery, in May of 1980. Through the years, Jon enjoyed tennis, sailing on Lake Michigan, golfing and biking. He was an avid sporting clay shooter. Jon served as both a Deacon and an Elder while a member at New Hope Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, John J. Orr and Phyllis Carol Gibbs Orr, and sister, Lynn (Bob) Kuzee. Surviving him are his wife of 40 years, Kathy Montgomery Orr, brother-in-law, Robert Montgomery (Karen) of San Diego, CA, and sister-in-law, Adelia (Dee) Montgomery of Three Rivers, MI. His nieces include: Dana Kuzee, Kathie Kuzee (Luis), and Cheryl Pinckney (Kevin) all from Grand Rapids, MI and his godchildren Meredith Masquelette of Nashville, TN, Andis and Aleksandra Svikis of Kalamazoo, MI.
