John went to be with the Lord on Sunday October 5, 2025, with his family by his side. He was born on June 9, 1939, in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to the late, Jacob and Dorothy (Corstange) Nord. After graduating from high school, John proudly served his country for six years in United States Army Reserves while also working for The Upjohn Company (Pharmacia) where he retired after 40 years. He was an incredibly humble and proud recipient of the prestigious Upjohn Award. John devoted his life to God and was a faithful member of Trinity Reformed Church for over 50 years and recently found a new home at Voyage Church.

On April 19, 1963, John married his best friend, Carol (VanDenBerg). Together they built a beautiful life and raised three children. John was a very proud father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He enjoyed time spent with his family and could always be found at the sporting events of his kids and grandkids either coaching or watching from the bleachers. John enjoyed spending summers in South Haven and traveling with his family and friends.

Surviving John is his wife, Carol; children, Douglas (Nancy) Nord, Kristi (Tom) Eiden, Debra (Kevin) McLeod; grandchildren, Jonathan Nord, Lindsay (Craig) Cleary, Nathan Heemstra, Katie (Jacob) Nabatoff, Chelsie Eiden, Jack Eiden, Griffin McLeod, Konnor McLeod, Sophia McLeod; three great grandchildren, brother, William (Karla) Nord and several nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Nord and James Nord along with his parents.
