John Murch

John A. Murch, age 83, of Paw Paw, MI passed away Tuesday morning, February 2, 2016 at his home. John was born October 23, 1932 in Paw Paw the son of the late Andrew and Grace (Hutchins) Murch. John was an owner and manager of the A.F. Murch Company in Michigan and Washington. He then built and operated the Spare Time Bowling Alley in Cheboygan, MI until his retirement. John enjoyed fishing and exploring in Canada, refurbishing old time cars and boats, and model ship building. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia L. (Gosenca) Murch and a daughter, Mary Murch. Surviving are five children, Andrew (Lana) Murch of Fountain Hills, AZ, John (Lela) Murch of Indianapolis, IN, Julie Pullen of Paw Paw, MI, Joseph T. Johnson of Chicago, IL, and Sandra J. (Lee) Keller of Boston, MA; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; brother, Tom (Deedee) Murch of Kalamazoo, three sisters, Mary Mclean and Nancy Carrington both of Kalamazoo and Judy (Chuck) Darby of Nantucket, MA; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends, Saturday (Feb 6) 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a memorial service will be held following visitation at 1 p.m. with Rev. Tiffany McCafferty of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. The family requests contributions, in memory of John A Murch, to be sent to the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, PO Box 64348, St. Paul, MN 55164-9677, for the Annual Fund. (Proceeds will be used to help adults receive treatment for chemical dependency/addiction.).
