John Jones

John Jones, age 80, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away on August 8, 2016. Wake will be held at Whitley Memorial, 330 N. Westnedge Ave., Kal., MI on August 19, 2016. Hours will be 5pm-7pm and the funeral services will be at Faith Temple Church of God, Inc., at 402 S. Westnedge Ave., Kal., MI on August 20, 2016 at 1pm. John A. Jones passed away at Borgess Hospital on August 8, 2016 after a long illness. John was born on September 11, 1935 in Okolona, MS to Andrew Jones, Jr and Mimmie B. Jones. John attended High school in Plantersville, MS. John moved to Kalamazoo, MI in 1956 and began working at Light's Tree service. He also worked as a laborer at Cooper's Foundry for several years. John later became a Foreman at M.W. Vanderveen Construction, where he remained until he retired. John married Ollie Anderson on September 17, 1960.
