John Holt

Holt, John Portage, Michigan John W. Holt, age 74 of Portage, passed away December 25, 2020. John was born June 23, 1946, a lifelong resident of Portage, the son of John and Grace Holt, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife Sharon and 2 brothers and one sister. John was an officer and president of Local 2167 Steelworkers for many years. He was a volunteer Fireman for 21 years with Kalamazoo Township (Northwood) Department. John was a member of the Eagles 3531, the American Legion 475 and the Moose 705 in Reed City. He enjoyed being with family and friends and deer hunting and going to their property up north. Surviving are his son John and Kim Holt of Martin, MI, and his daughter Ronda and Mike Kelly of Martin, MI, and 4 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. A private service will be held for John with burial at Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park.
