Eshuis , John 10/12/1926 - 1/31/2021 Richland John Allan Eshuis, age 94, of Richland, MI passed away peacefully Sunday, the 31st of January, 2021. John was born and raised in Kalamazoo, MI and resided at his beloved Gull Lake for the past 63 years. He graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School in 1944 and received a business degree from Parsons Business College. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army where he made his lifelong friends. Later he attended Western Michigan University, where he was mentored by the renowned speech therapist, Charles Van Riper. John graduated from WMU with a BA and focus on Speech Pathology. He taught for over 24 years in the Gull Lake Community School System as a Speech Therapist. John is proceeded in death by his dear sister, Betty (Anthony-Hughes) and niece Patricia (Anthony). He is survived and loved by his two children, Penny and Eric (Gina), four grandchildren, Emily, Max, Lulu and Franny, his niece Susan (Anthony), nephew Will (Kathy Anthony) and grandnephew James. John's greatest passions in life were family, friends, horses, and the Lake. He was always known for his excellent sense of style and penchant for interior design. He was adored by all who knew him and was always up for the next adventure. There will be a celebration of his life at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel on Sunday, February 14th, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 p.m. A private, family only interment will be at Mt.
