John E. Schowalter

John E. Schowalter, age 59, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, November 28, 2016 at Ascension All Saints Hospital. John was born in Racine, October 17, 1957, son of Lewis and Lemma (Nee: McElvain) Schowalter.

On July 14, 1990 in Sturtevant, he was united in marriage to Janelle K. Tyykila. John was employed by Cree Lighting for the past eight years. Always ready with a joke, John could find humor in anything. He was a huge Packer fan, but more than anything he cherished spending time with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Janelle; his children, Danielle (Peter) Zimmer, Paul Schowalter; his grandchildren, Vincent and Devin Zimmer; his mother, Lemma Jane Schowalter; sister and brothers, Joan (Carl) Vanderwerff, James (Clarisse) Schowalter, Jeffrey Schowalter; mother-in-law, Karen Tyykila; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kenneth Tyykila (Shanda), Janette (Keller) Lenamond; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Lewis George Schowalter.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 2, 2016, 6:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Lutheran Church, 1700 S. Green Bay Road, with Rev. Krista Zimmerman officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the church from 4:00 P.M. until time of service at 6:00 P.M. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested.
