John Clarence Roy

Passed away Monday February 10, 2020 peacefully in his sleep. John was born December 5, 1930 in Cleveland, OH the son of Joseph and Betty (Fisceri) Roy. John was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He graduated in 1953 from Notre Dame with a Bachelor's in Fine Arts and in 1961 from Michigan State University with a Master's in Education. John retired as the art teacher from Harper Creek Community Schools and from the automotive dept. from Meijer. He enjoyed camping at Weko Beach in Bridgeman for 40 years. On June 9, 1961 in Three Rivers, John was united in marriage to Kathryn (Delong) Roy, who preceded him in death in 2017. He was also preceded by a sister, Alia Taylor. Surviving are sons Phillip (Lisa) Roy, David (Janis) Roy, grandchildren, Morgan, Brittni and Joseph; great-grandchildren Eleanora and Keaton. Cremation has taken place. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph County Humane Society.
