John Caswell

John G. Caswell, age 61 of Kalamazoo, died under hospice care on August 31, 2025. He was born on August 1, 1964, in Kalamazoo, the son of Gerald Caswell and Judith Thompson Caswell. John was a 1982 graduate of Parchment High School. He held a longtime career at Upjohn Company/Pfizer/Pharmacia as a chemical coordinator and retired in December of 2021, after 35 years. On July 6, 1985, he married Mary Armintrout and they were blessed with two children. John loved being outdoors, whether hunting, fishing or camping he enjoyed nature. He loved to watch football and especially attending his son and grandson's football games. John was a wonderful and loving husband and father and cherished being a grandfather. His family includes his wife, Mary Caswell; his children: Jonathan (Beth) Caswell and Kari (Duane) Wine; his grandchildren: Dylan, Lucas, Savannah and Scarlett; his mother Judith Thompson; his brother Todd Caswell; his stepbrothers Andy (Jen) Brazee and Ryan Brazee and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Gerald Caswell and his stepfather Walter Brazee. Friends may gather with John's family on Friday, September 5th, from 5:00-8:00 PM, at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Location, 3926 S. 9th Street, Kalamazoo. Donations in memory of John may be made to the Kalamazoo Nature Center.
