John B. Fellner Sr., age 90, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2016 at home. John was born in Raymond Township of Racine County, WI, on June 3, 1925, son of the late Phillip and Edna (Nee: Noe) Fellner.

He attended St. Louis School in Caledonia, WI and Horlick High School, but dropped out to work on the family farm. John was drafted by the United States Army but chose to enlist in the Army Air Corps during the closing days of World War II. After the war he continued his education at Horlick, graduated, and became employed at Young Radiator. John was called back to duty during the Korean War, stationed in the Phillipines. Later he was stationed in Waco, TX, at James Connally Air Base where he met his future wife, Helen R. Stone. They were married on October 13, 1951 at St. Louis Catholic Church in Caledonia, WI. Furthering his education John graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee under G.I. Bill in 1957 with a degree in education. He taught fifth grade at Roosevelt, Sturtevant, Richards and West Ridge Grade Schools and also farmed in the Franksville area retiring in 1983. John served in the Air Force Reserves for twenty-seven years in the 440th Air Force Squadron based out of Mitchell Field, Milwaukee. His hobbies included reading, coin collecting, crossword puzzles, playing bingo, and the nickel slot machines in the casinos. John was a longtime dedicated member of St. Louis Catholic Church and belonged to the church rosary group. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus.

John will be dearly missed by his children, Patricia Fellner (Ken Rosenow), John (Suzanne) Fellner Jr., Fred Fellner (Pen McDermott), Susan (Dave) Holeton, all of Racine, Joseph (Judy) Fellner of Kettering, OH, Mark Fellner, Henry Fellner, Ruth (Jeff) Teeter, all of Racine; 11 grandchildren, Keith, Jennifer, Dave Jr., Brian, Kristen, Joseph Jr., Mary, Matthew, Jordan, Jarrod, and Jessica; 8 great grandchildren, Aleisha, Isaac, Jack, Reed, Iris, Ian, Cullen and Dexter; special cousin, Hazel Keller; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by spouse of sixty-four years, Helen R. Fellner; his siblings, Margaret Fellner, Marion Fellner, Phillip (Mary Ann) Fellner and Catherine (Roy) Stapleman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, May 16, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at St. Louis Catholic Church, 13207 County Road G, with Rev. Mark Danczyk officiating. Full Military Honors will follow. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Monday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Private interment will be held at St. Louis Cemetery.
