Johannes Korendyke

Johannes R. "Hans" Korendyke, age 53, of Kalamazoo, MI passed away Saturday afternoon, February 10, 2018. Hans was born November 8, 1964 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Ben and Hendrien A. (Dykxhoorn) Korendyk and had been a lifelong resident in the Kalamazoo area. Hans had been employed with Tower Pinkster Associates for 28 years as a mechanical engineer and department manager. He enjoyed playing poker at various levels, whether with friends or playing in tournaments. Hans was a devoted family man, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. On July 30, 1994 he was united in marriage to loving wife Jill (Krohn), who survives. Also surviving are his children, Amanda Korendyke-Brownell (Bradley), Hannah Korendyke, Ashley Korendyke; his parents, Ben (Hendrien) Korendyk; brothers, Ben (Kristin) Korendyke, Clarence (Nancy) Korendyke; mother-in-law, Barbara Krohn; sisters and brother-in-law, April (Warren) Titus, Sheri Krohn, Michael Krohn; and several nieces and nephews. Hans was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Richard Krohn. A memorial gathering will be held from 5-7pm Friday, February 16 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street where a memorial service will be held at 11:00am Saturday, February 17. A time of fellowship will immediately follow the service in the Langeland Family Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Habitat for Humanity.
