Joel Garrison

Died Wednesday morning August 12, 2020. Joel was born October 25, 1957 in Portage, Michigan a son of Leslie and Jannis (Dial) Garrison. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and owned and operated Garrison Auto Refinishing. Joel was also a member of Lighthouse Community Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jerry Garrison. Joel left behind wife, Venetta K. (Matthews) Garrison, and children, Jessica (Kenny) Blasius of Vicksburg, Jennifer Garrison of Grand Rapids, and Krista Matthews and Mitchel (Rikki) Matthews all of Battle Creek; also three grandchildren, Graham, Kellen, and Bowen; and a brother, Laurel (Jackie) Garrison of Delton, MI. A private memorial service was held at Lighthouse Community Church, 4321 S. 11th St. A private burial will take place at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Lighthouse Community Church.
