Joan Callan

Joan Marie Callan, age 81, of Portage, MI passed away Friday evening, January 6, 2017. Joan was born February 3, 1935 in Midland, MI the daughter of the late John and Marie Mellon. She was a bus driver for several years; driving handicapped children around to their various destinations. Joan especially loved being on the lake and enjoyed taking trips up north with her sisters and family. Joan is survived by her daughters, Jean Callan, Carol Patrick, Pam Callan, Wendy Vance; 5 grandchildren, Lindsay, Skylar, Bo, Chance and Scott; a great-grandchild, Choice; brother and sister, Tom Mellon, Margie Loiselle; and several nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by a sister, Donna Brabaw. A memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, January 12 at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 South 9th Street.
