Jesse Gilbert, Jr.

Jesse Gilbert Jr., age 84, of Portage, MI passed away peacefully in his sleep August 17, 2017. Born January 3,1933 in Le junior Kentucky to Jesse and Hedy Gilbert . In 1955 he joined the Marine Corps and honored that title throughout his life. 1957 he married the love of his life Lavada Terry and they had 4 children during their 60 years of marriage. He was a man of strong faith , a member of Philadelphia Church of God . He is survived by his wife Lavada Gilbert , 4 children Jessica Harwood of Holland, Mark Gilbert of kalamazoo, Laurie Davis (Dallas) of Vicksburg, Alena Gilbert of Holland , 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren family will have a private memorial.
