Hilbert, Jerry Ann "Jerrie" (Warner) Kalamazoo, MI Jerrie, age 86, passed away Wednesday morning, December 17, 2020 at the New Friends Care Facility (Vibrant Life Senior Living) in Kalamazoo. Jerrie was born April 10, 1934 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of Jerome Warner and Elizabeth (Sergeant) Warner. She grew up in Kalamazoo, and spent summers at Gull Lake since 1948. Jerrie Ann graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School, attended DePauw University and was a graduate of Michigan State University. She was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority. Following graduation, she worked as the bridal consultant in the French Room at Gilmore's Department Store. She married James "Mike" Hilbert of Wayland, August 30, 1957 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Kalamazoo. In early 1960, Jerrie and Mike made their home in Grand Rapids, where they lived for the rest of their married life. Jerrie taught Physical Education in the Grand Rapids public schools for a number of years. Mike passed away in 2014. Surviving Jerrie are her sisters-in-law, Beverly Warner of Hickory Corners and Maria Warner Gesmundo of Kalamazoo; nephew, Andrew Warner of Lake Leelanau, MI and niece Kristen Warner of Delton, MI, as well as special cousins, John Dykhouse of New Jersey, Elizabeth Dykhouse of Gull Lake, Rosemary Farrar of New York and Jackie Needham of Kalamazoo. Jerrie was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, David Warner and Andrew Warner and niece, Deborah Elizabeth Warner. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will be held at the Yorkville Cemetery, Ross Township, in spring of 2021. Memorial contributions in Jerrie's honor may be directed to an organization of your choice.
