Mr. Jerome M. Schaap age 88, of Hamilton, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Holland Hospital.
Jerome was a charter member of Hamilton Christian Reformed Church where he served as a deacon in 1950 during the organization of the church. He was a farmer in the area his entire life and retired from Hamilton Farm Bureau as a truck driver and was a volunteer with CRWRC.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ione; Children, Barbara and Howard Norlin of Holland, Lois Johnson of Tuscon, AZ., Jane and Doug Hildenbrand of Burnips, Howard and Kimberly Schaap of Hamilton; 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; sister, Theresa and Stanley Overbeek of Hamilton; in-laws, Ivan and Wilma Johnson of Hamilton, Lorraine and Philip Yskes of Zeeland, Cecil Johnson of Holland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, November 26, 2007 at Hamilton Christian Reformed Church, 3596 47th St. Hamilton with the Rev. John Byker officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-5p.m. Sunday at the Notier Ver Lee Langeland Funeral Chapel, 3616 M-40, Hamilton. Memorial contributions may be given to Love, Inc. The family would like to thank the staff of Holland Hospital for their outstanding care and compassion given to our husband and father.
