Jerald "Jerry" Hoyt

Jerald "Jerry" Douglas Hoyt, 88, of Jones, MI. passed away on Tuesday August 6, 2024 at Three Rivers Hospital in Three Rivers Michigan. Jerry was born on May 11, 1936 to Leon and Clara Hoyt in Cheshire, MI. Jerry married Diann Krallman on December 31, 1988.

Jerry graduated from Vicksburg High School in Vicksburg, MI., class of 1954. He honorably served his country in the United States Marines, where he received the Good Conduct Medal. He worked as a welder for W.F. Wells in Three Rivers, Michigan and retired in 1996. He enjoyed being outdoors from canoeing, to hunting to camping with his family, and square dancing with his wife Diann. He loved to spend time with his family and friends and will be sadly missed.

Jerry is survived by his wife of over 35 years, Diann Hoyt; children: Leslie (Ron) Johnson, Jeff Hoyt, Jamie (Neil) Helbling, and Michelle Maley; grandchildren: Keisha (Chad) Vis, Calley Johnson, Jennifer Hoyt, Courtney Hunsberger, Tyler Hunsberger and Austin Maley; great-grandchildren: Holden Vis and Lyric Maley; sisters: Joyce Striebel, Sandra Frye, Kathy (Jerry) DeKracker, Beverly Holmes, and Patti Hoyt; and brothers, James Hoyt and Mike Hoyt. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Leon Hoyt and Clara Sudman, and his sister Juanita Risner.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a later date at Kessington Community Church, 70200 Kessington Road, Edwardsburg, MI 49112. He will be laid to rest at Maplewood Cemetery in Allegan, MI.
