Jennie Mae Goff, age 84, passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. She was born in New Albany, Mississippi, October 22, 1934, daughter of the late Ellis and Mary Helen (Nee: Foster) Sanders.
In January of 1964 she was united in marriage to George L. Goff Sr. who preceded her in death, May 1995. Jennie was a member of the Eastern Star. Shopping was Jennie’s favorite pastime where you could always find her at either Piggly Wiggly or JC Penney. More than anything she was devoted to and cherished time spent with her family.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Tammy (Versie Sr.) Shannon of Racine, Linda Swift of Indianapolis, IN; her grandchildren, Sophia (Carson) Payne of Nashville, TN, Shareeka Goff of Racine, Versie L. Shannon Jr. of Nashville, TN, Jerome D. (Stephanie) Davis of Houston, TX, Oleta (Damon) Reed of Ft. Worth, TX, Angela Swift of Ft. Worth, TX, George A. Goff IV of Detroit, MI, Dana Hill of Detroit, MI; her great-grandchildren, ShaToria (Terrace) Conway, CarDaja Payne, Talia Payne, Amya Payne, ShaMia Goff, LaMia Goff, Franklin Jones, Ja’Quora Jones, Jasmine Davis, Justin Davis, Kaleb Reed, Kai’a Reed, Aaran Carter, Aniyah Carter, Addison White, Darryl Hill, Dante Hill, Dakota Hill, Damon Hill; her great-great-grandchildren, Tristan Shannon, Josiah Martin, Terrance Conway Jr., Kyree Jones; special friends, Johnnie Sanders, Gwen Lewis, Mary Price, Viola Scruggs, Hattie Stacy; plus a host of other friends and relatives. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son, George Goff III; and grandson, Damon Hill.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, 2019, 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Myron Tucker officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the funeral home from 10:00 am until time of service at 11:00am. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
