Jeanette (nee: Mielcarek) Aegerter, age 81, passed away on March 19, 2024 at Froedtert Hospital in Milwaukee surrounded by her loving family.

Jeanette was born in Racine on March 15, 1943, to the late Walter and Dorothy Mielcarek. She was a 1961 graduate of Racine St. Catherine’s High School.

On October 13,1962 at St Stanislaus Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to Thomas Aegerter, who proceeded her in death on December 13, 2018. To their marriage, three sons were born in just under three years. They raised their family in the house on Shoop Street where Jeanette lived the rest of her life.

Jeanette was a compassionate woman who had a heart for those less fortunate. She took food to homeless shelters and worked as a volunteer for local charities. She truly lived her Catholic faith in these selfless acts. Jeanette also had a soft spot for dogs. Until recently, she had a constant dog companion. In 1959, she was in the Racine Journal Times being presented with an award for saving a dog that had been abandoned and chained to a pole.

Jeanette had part time jobs over her life including working at Warren Packaging, being a Crossing Guard when her boys were young, and working for Unified in the kitchen preparing hot lunches for the students, but nothing meant more to her than her family and her faith. She was a devoted wife to Tom for over 56 years, a loving mom to her sons, and a proud and doting Grandma and Great Grandma. Her family brought her joy and pride. Her Catholic beliefs and her 60 year membership at St Joseph’s Catholic Church sustained her through life’s struggles and celebrations.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, David (Colleen) Aegerter, Michael (Jane) Aegerter, Scott Aegerter (Kelly Doyle): grandchildren, Jonathan (Sam), David (Sam), Ashley (Andrew), Jacob (Kaylee ), Hannah, and Braedon; great grandchildren Natalie, Carter, Cora, Emmy, and Elsie. Further survived by her brothers, Dick (Debbie) Mielcarek and Dan (Tami) Mielcarek, and her aunt Connie (the late Rudy) Kuzel and many nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends.

Visitation will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1533 Erie St, on Saturday March 23, 2024, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to start at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Cardiovascular ICU staff at Froedtert for the loving care shown to Jeanette. We are forever grateful.
