When Jami Lou Malbone entered Heaven on January 2, 2021, the heavenly choir gained an awesome alto, a talented pianist and flutist. Here on Earth, Jami was always looking out for others. As an RN she attended to the sick. In her spare time, she made baby outfits and afghans for friends and family, and hats and mittens for church missions and bazars. She was an artist and whatever craft she made always turned out beautifully. Jami was a talented writer, a poet. She posted her poetry on Facebook and shared her insights about the importance of attending church, whether in person, virtually or via the radio. She often shared quotes and Bible stories that inspired her. Jami was born in Carson City, Michigan. She spent her childhood years in Crystal and Portage, Michigan. She attended the Westwood Church of God in Kalamazoo. She sang, played the piano and flute for the church youth choir which traveled across the country. With her family, as a child, Jami enjoyed camping throughout the United States and Canada and attending Warner Camp Meeting in Grand Junction, Michigan. Jami graduated from Portage Northern High School in 1978. She graduated from Anderson College in 1985, earning her nursing degree. She studied for her Bachelor of Nursing at the University of Phoenix. Jami and her family moved to Akron, Indiana in 1981 where she worked as a RN at KCH in Warsaw. Jami attended the Akron Church of God where she sang in the choir. A fond memory of Jami while living in Akron is that she owned a blue Camaro and taking her siblings and cousins for a ride while playing her Miami Vice cassette was a real treat! In 1997, Jami and her parents moved to Scottsdale, AZ. She attended the Valley Community Church of God, sang in the choir and often sang solos. She worked as a RN for many years at Scottsdale Healthcare and later for Heathways. In her spare time, she loved crafting, watching old movies and TV shows, writing poetry, reading and going for walks with her Min Pin Roxy. Jami had a smile that lit up her entire face. She was a kind person who loved to give to those in need. She loved going to church and reading her Bible. She studied it daily. She wrote that the B-I-B-L-E stood for B-Basic I-Instructions B- Before, L-Leaving E-Earth. Jami had instructions to go be with her Lord and Savior. She was ready to go. We will miss her insightfulness, her love for her family, and her generosity. Heaven has gained a precious angel. Knowing she is there makes letting go a little easier. Jami is survived by her parents, Rev. James and Brenda Malbone (Scottsdale, AZ), brother David Malbone (Sheridan, IN), sister Anita Kline and her husband, Paul (Monterey, IN), nephew Wesley Malbone and his wife, Eli (Ft Wainwright, Alaska) and her dog, Roxy. Preceding in death were her grandparents, D. Wesley and Lula Malbone (Bradenton, FL) and Murl D, and E. Lenore Brandal (Ithaca, MI). She also leaves behind her aunts, uncles and many cousins whom she loved and cherished. No service is scheduled at this time due to the pandemic. The family hopes to celebrate Jami"s life later in the year.
