James Velting

VELTING, JAMES James Velting, age 83, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday evening, September 10, 2013. He is preceded in death by his brother, Ernie Mingerink, sister, Ann Carlon, brother, Richard Velting, sister, Margorie Geene, great grandson, Cody Velting, brothers-in-law, Ralph Carlon and Marvin Geene and sisters-in-law, Vivian Velting and Vivian Mingerink. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Phyllis Velting, his six children: Sheryl D'Amerio, Scott and Donna Velting, Vicki and Wayne Bickel, Kim and Barb Velting, Kirk and Frances Velting, Kevin and Luann Velting, 15 grandchildren, 14 1/3 great-grandchildren, and four siblings, William and Gloria Velting, Pearl and Jack Hoffius, Ruth and John Kool, and Dave and Joan Velting. Jim's life was defined by his faith and his family. He was a loving husband, devoted father and a caring person to anyone he came in contact with. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Monday 11:00 am at Rush Creek Bible Church. Interment Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the Zaagman Memorial Chapel, 2800 Burton St. SE, Saturday 6 to 8 pm and Sunday 2 to 4 pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Grace Adventures in Mears, MI or Grace Bible College.
