James G. Lipscomb Frisco, TX It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our dear husband and father on July 19, 2010. James Garfield Lipscomb, 75, of Frisco, TX and formerly of Battle Creek, MI passed away quietly surrounded by his wife and family on Monday morning, July 19, 2010 at Texas Presbyterian Health Resources in Plano, Texas. He was born August 19, 1934 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Oscar William Lipscomb and Viva Ruth (Marshall) Lipscomb. Jim was a machinist all of his life making hydraulic valves and pumps with the Hydreco General Signal Company (formerly New York Air Brake) for 27 years and retired from Hydreco in 1986. He married the former Margaret Sophia Honeyman on March 17, 1973 in Battle Creek, MI. He is survived by his wife: Margaret S. Lipscomb of Frisco, TX; two sons: Richard and Donna Lipscomb of Battle Creek, MI; James Lipscomb of Forney, TX; a step - son: Benjamin and Connie Sullivan of Oceanside, CA; two daughters: Cindy Merry of Myrtle Beach, So. Carolina; Patty and Winston Schray of Battle Creek, MI; a step daughter: Sandy Golgart of Frisco, Texas; a brother and his wife: William and Autumn Lipscomb of Battle Creek, MI; two sisters: June Boney of Apache Junction, Arizona; Ruth Matson of Union City, MI; 11 grandchildren: Rebecca and Jason Folckemer of Watertown, NY; James G. Lipscomb of Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Thomas Lipscomb (passed in 2006); Lindsey Schray; Carol Ann Schray; Tonya Knox; Miranda Merry; Jessica Lipscomb; Heather Golgart; Michelle Handy; Leslie Ann Sullivan; and Kelley Sullivan; great grandchildren: Joshua, Skylar, Adison Folckemer of Watertown, NY; Kimberly, Austyn Lipscomb of Delton, MI; Victoria, CJ, and Loren Knox. Jim was preceded in death by his father - Oscar William Lipscomb, his mother -Viva Ruth Lipscomb; two brothers: Albert Lipscomb and Robert Lipscomb. Jim received his education from the Battle Creek Public Schools. He was a member of First Wesleyan Church, the PNA Club (Polish National Association) and the local Machinist Union; he enjoyed bowling, camping, hunting, the outdoors, watching NASCAR racing and especially his family. James lived in the Battle Creek area for 72 years and moved to the Dallas, Texas area in 2007. Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Sunday from 2:00 until 5 p.m. and Monday July 26, 2010 from 1 - 3:00 p.m. and 5-7:00 p.m. where the family will be present to visit with friends and relatives. Funeral services commemorating the Life of James Lipscomb will be held in the Bachman Funeral Chapel 1:30 p.m. Tuesday July 27, 2010 with Pastor Mark S. Lipscomb of West Berlin Wesleyan Church of Lake Odessa, MI and Rev. Robert L. Zuhl of First Wesleyan Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association .
