Klemens, James 4/23/1951 - 12/16/2020 Jensen Beach Fl James Michael Klemens, 69 years old passed away at his home on December 16, 2020 after a difficult battle with colon cancer Born to William and Jean (Climie) Klemens on April 23, 1951 in Alpena, Michigan. Jim graduated from Alpena High School in 1969. He was a great gymnast on the parallel bars. During high school, Jim worked at Climies Bakery (family Owned) making delicious baked goods and varieties of bread. His mom alway said the Jim "was born on a flour sack" for he always was a part of the bakery and continued to bake delicious, breads, cakes and cookies for his family and others all of his life. In 1965, Jim worked at Luds Fast Food restaurant, the first in Alpena. He was their first employee and he loved flipping those burgers and continued the love for cooking. In 1969, following graduation from high school, Jim enlisted in the united States Air Force for 4 years. He served in Thailand during the Vietnam war. In 1972, he married Gailynn Werth and together they had 4 beautiful children. Upon returning to Alpena after the Air Force, Jim had a variety of jobs, starting with Werth Builders, Frito Lay, Ludlows Big Boy and Alpena Cement plant, always bettering himself in each new ob the he pursued to support his family. He also took classes at Alpena community College under the G.I Bill and in 1984 he qualified for the first Registered Nursing Program offered by the college. It was 2 years of dedicated studying and part time jobs. He graduated with honors. The family moved to Kalamazoo Mi where Jim worked at the Veteran's Hospital in Battle Creek and then found his specialty at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kidney dialysis. Jim was deeply affected by the death of his youngest son in a tragic car accident. In 1999 Jim married again to Tammy Bronson (Mills). Together they continued working in dialysis. In 2011, they made the decision to become traveling dialysis nurses. Jim loved the adventure and worked in 20 different assignments across the USA and caribbean. He made so many friends wherever he went. His last assignment was in Jensen Beach, FL. He fell in love with the area and decided to settle in Florida. He worked for Fresenius Medical Care, Port St. Lucie Acutes until the time of his cancer diagnosis. Jim is preceded in death by his son, Jamison Ryan Klemens, his parents, William and Jean Klemens and his brother, William (Bill) Klemens. He is survived by his wife, Tammy Klemens, Children, Corwin Klemens, Shana and Mathew Kent, Kristina and Paul Bennett, Evan Bronson, Aaron Bronson as well as 7 grandchildren. His brother Dennis Klemens and sister Mary K Thompson A memorial service will be planned for the summer of 2021 in Michigan Jim was a kind, caring and loving soul. He loved taking care of his dialysis patients. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be deeply missed
