BOSCH James "Jim" Vanden Bosch, age 95, went to be with the Lord his Savior on Wednesday, December 19, 2007. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna; daughter, Trena Heemstra; brothers, Hank, Al, and Conrad Vanden Bosch; sisters, Tillie Vanden Bosch and Nellie Hielkema. Surviving are his children, Marilyn (Jim, deceased) Swets of IL, Larry and Gerene Vanden Bosch of Holland, Elaine and John De Jager of Grand Rapids, Ruth Schipper of TX, Jan and Dale Elling of Hudsonville, Edward and Cheryl Vanden Bosch of Lowell; son-in-law, Larry Heemstra. Dad always marveled at what began with two increased to more than 102 today, including grandchildren and great grandchildren, plus nieces and nephews. Jim worked for almost 50 years on the farmers markets, Leonard St., Fulton St., and Cottage Grove, where his seven children enjoyed working. He was a faithful husband and a godly father. One of his favorite hymns was "Blessed Assurance, Jesus is Mine". His assurance was that someday he would see Jesus. His large print Bible was the centerpiece of his table. He was always ready to share his love for the Lord with anyone willing to listen. He prayed daily for all his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren by name. He also loved playing his keyboard at Sheldon Meadows. James was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Jenison, MI. The family would like to thank Sheldon Meadows for the years of loving care for our dad and also for the hospice care until the end. Funeral services will be held Friday 5:00 p.m. at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Dr., with Pastor Terry Scholten and Mel Vander Bie officiating. Interment Georgetown Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorial contributions to Unity Christian High School.
