James Huberty

Huberty, James W. Portage, MI Age 73, passed away at his home April 16, 2015. Jim was born February 7, 1942 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Anthony and Donna (Frietag) Huberty. He graduated from Southern Illinois University and worked as a property manager for Meyer C Weiner Company. Jim loved to golf, coach baseball, travel, but family always came first. He was a member and past president of Zion Lutheran Church and was a member and past Exalted Ruler of the Kalamazoo Elks #50. On August 22, 1964 in Melrose Park, IL, Jim was united in marriage to Phyllis, who survives. Also surviving are two children, James (Lauren) Huberty of Portage, and Erin (Jason) Huberty-Marin of Evanston, IL; four grandchildren, Phoebe, Matthew, Anthony Huberty and Jackson Marin; two special in-laws, Donna Huberty and Walter Tousey; and nieces & nephews, Sean, Tara, Erika and Philip. He was preceded in death by his brother, Scott Huberty and sister-in law, Marlene Tousey. A Memorial Service will be held Monday, April 27, 11:00 am at the Zion Lutheran Church (2122 Bronson Blvd.) with Pastor Tim Seeber, officiating. Friends are welcome to meet beginning at 10:00 am.
