James Henry TenBusschen peacefully passed away in his home, with family by his side, on December 16th, 2023. He was 89 years old.
He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Henry A. TenBusschen and Bessie (McNeil Siegler). After graduating from Kalamazoo Central High School, Jim served in the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska during the mid-1950s. Jim married the love of his life, Maryann (Likes), and they had one son, Michael. He worked at and retired from the Orrin B. Hayes dealership in downtown Kalamazoo where he made many friends. He enjoyed chatting them up over a cup of coffee. Jim was an avid collector of anything relating to history and had a massive collection of vintage toy trains and model tractors.
Jim leaves behind one brother- Richard TenBusschen (Fran), one son- Michael TenBusschen (Janel), one grandson- Theodore, and two step-grandchildren- Joseph Barboline (Sarah), and Jessica Barboline (Mikey Rotgers), along with many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will take place this spring and his friends and family will be invited.
