Foster, James A. James A. Foster, age 86 of Plainwell, passed away suddenly on November 16, 2020 with his family around him. Jim was born May 29, 1934 in Kalamazoo, the son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Dunn) Foster. A member of St. Ambrose Parish, Delton, Jim volunteered at the church with their food program and lead the Rosary on a regular basis. Jim's faith was very important to him and he consistently urged family and friends to be right with the Lord and that he was praying for them. He also volunteered several years at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church Community Center in Kalamazoo, following his retirement from Eckrich in the mid 90's. Jim loved gardening where he would grow vegetables and fruit, that he loved to share with friends and family throughout the growing season. He was an avid bowler, enjoyed fishing, grilling, and watching seasonal sports on television. He also loved attending sporting events for his grandchildren. On November 24, 1974, Jim married Donna (Seeley) Falor who predeceased him in 2013 after 38 years of marriage. Jim and Donna were a great team together and became well known in the community for their willingness to help others. Together they raised a blended family of 7 boys who gave them both joy and challenges, often in equal doses. Jim is survived by his sons: Kenneth (Susan) Foster and Steven Foster; stepsons: Brian (Trish) Falor, Barry Falor, Brent (Tammy) Falor; and daughter-in-law, Patsy Falor; sister Donna (Jim) Wier; brothers: Ron Foster and Don Foster; grandchildren: Valerie (Chris) Filiberto, Mary Elaine (Bobby) Roush, Allyson Foster, and David (Jillian) Foster; step grandchildren: Ryan (Mary) Falor, Parker Falor, Bruce Falor, Shayne Falor, Patrick Falor, Johnathon Falor, Brandon (Mandy Dundas) Falor, Bryant Falor, Leah Reynolds, Michael Falor, Brett Falor; 3 great grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; 37 nieces and nephews; best friend and companion, Ovie Pinks. Jim was also preceded in death by his parents; son, Allan Foster; step son, Bruce Falor; brothers: Paul Foster, Tom Foster; sisters: Betty Leet, Lucille Hoffman, Marilyn Foster, Dorothy Ketchum and Pat Jeffrey; and best friend Jim Vandefifer. A celebration of life service is being planned on Jim's birthday, May 29, 2021 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Delton followed by burial at Brush Ridge Cemetery. More information will be posted as we get nearer to the date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Seventh-Day Adventist Church Community Center, 1601 Nichols Rd., Kalamazoo, MI 49006 in Jim's name. Jim loved giving to others, and we want to continue his legacy. Please visit www.williamsgoresfuneral.com to share a memory or to leave a condolence message for Jim's family.
