Jackie died peacefully at home after a long and rich life! She was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on October 16, 1933, the daughter of Frank L. and Elsie T. Dines and was a lifelong resident of Kalamazoo. She was an extremely hard worker her whole life, including up until she died! and valued and treasured everything she had. She graduated from Kalamazoo Central High School in 1951 and worked every day since! She was able to work for over twenty years as an accountant and the office manager for Robert Baxter and Co., her husband's Certified Public Accounting firm, and later was the benefits manager at Consumers Concrete Products where she enjoyed so many friendships. During the pandemic she came to live with her daughter and son-in-law and still put in a full day's work every day!

She was first and foremost, however, a wife, mother and grandmother and loved her family fiercely. She had the privilege of spending over 68 years with the absolute love of her life, Robert Baxter, who preceded her in death in 2019. She was an outstanding cook and took good care to feed her family. She enjoyed sewing and needlework (her nickname was clicking needles!) but most of all she loved taking care of everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert, and siblings Virginia Cooper and Frank E. Dines. She is survived by her brother, James Dines (Marlene); children: Terry L. Baxter (Stephen Jefferson), Robert E. Baxter (Vicki Hunter), and step-daughter Linda K. Miller (David); grandchildren: Lindsey E. Hill (Greg), Kate E. Jefferson (Ross Rozankovich), Jenny J. Gress (Jeremy), Anne C. Jefferson (Will Ogden); step grandchildren: David Miller (Rachelle), Sarah Maass (Philip), Andrew Jefferson (Amy); and great-grandchildren: Liam Rozankovich, Ensley and Merritt Gress, Owen Ogden; and step great-grandchildren: Kelsey Miller, Aaron, Henry, Emma, and Amy Maass, and Riess Jefferson; and several nieces and nephews. According to her wishes cremation has taken place. Friends may greet the family on Friday, June 7, 2024, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m., Langeland Family Funeral Home Westside Location, 3926 South 9th Street, Kalamazoo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of Southwest Michigan or to the Kalamazoo Humane Society. Please visit Jackie's personalized online guestbook at
