Burpee, Jack E. 9/24/1932 - 4/10/2021 Battle Creek Jack Edwin Burpee, 88, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on April 10, 2021. He had been a resident at the Community Living Center, VA since 2015. Jack is preceded in death by his parents; brother; son-in-law, Scott Sandy and his daughter, Julie Kruszka. Jack is survived by his wife, Jeannie; two sons, Keith (Debbie) Burpee and Jeff (Linda) Weller; daughter, Kelly Sandy-Aldrich (Vince); grandchildren, Amanda Kruszka, Grace Kruszka, Emerson Kruszka, Logan (Hakeem) Manning, Sheena (Chris) Myers, Jessica (Tyler) Piper, Leah (Matthew) Madill, Hannah (Mark) Taylor, Trent Sandy, and Jack E. Burpee II (Molly); great granddaughters, Molly, Cora, and Rowyan; nieces and nephews. Jack proudly served four years with the U.S. Navy, receiving an honorable discharge. He retired from Humphrey Products after 60 years, working first as a draftsman, then with computers, and becoming a data processing manager. He was very involved with his church, searching as an elder, records keeper, and a leader of small groups for many years. Jack also loved to read, having many volumes of the Civil War and books on trains. His main joy was traveling and camping with his wife and grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at the Pleasantville Family Church, 2791 Lacey Rd. Dowling, MI 49050 on Monday, April 19, 2021 at 11:00 am.
