Age 92, passed away Monday afternoon, August 14, 2023. Herman was born in Plainwell, MI, on September 7, 1930, the son of Ralph Martin and Nellie (Nostein) Largent. He married the love of his life, Hermine Ann Nopp who preceded him in death in 2017. Herman is survived by his children, Gary (Mona) Largent, SuAnn Purdy, Charlene Rigby, Sheila (Dave) Madsen; several grandchildren including Edward Cook, Josh (Stacy) Cook and several great-grandchildren, including Lydia (O'Shea) Morgan and Griffin Cook; son-in-law, Edward Cook. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Judith Cook, Sandy Caro and Shirley Seigwart. A graveside service will take place on Monday, August 21, 2023, at 12:00 noon, at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial Park, 3941 S. Westnedge Ave., Kalamazoo. Friends may call on the family prior to the service at Joldersma & Klein Funeral Home, 917 S. Burdick St., Kalamazoo from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to SPCA of Southwest Michigan, c/o the funeral home.
