Helen E. Alusic

Helen E. Alusic, age 91, passed away Sunday, February 21, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Helen was born in Racine, June 2, 1924, daughter of the late Steve and Hermina (Nee: Charvat) Alusic.

Helen was employed by the Racine Unified School District for over twenty-two years. She was a longtime active member of the Pentecost Lutheran Church. Helen’s pastimes included reading, volunteering and traveling.

She will be dearly missed by her sister, Marian Andersen; nephews and nieces, Jerome Andersen, Donald (Alice) Alusic, Robert Alusic, Michelle (Paul) Churchill, Lynn Garther; George Slezak, Roy Slezak, Mildred Slezak and John Slezak; nephews and nieces; many cousins in Czech Republic and Slovakia; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Joseph and Milan; and brother-in-law, Jerome Andersen.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2016, 11:00 A.M. at Pentecost Lutheran Church, 2213 Coolidge Avenue, with Rev. Luke Jacob officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Wednesday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Private graveside services will be held at Graceland Cemetery. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
