Helen Bult, age 93, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2024, at Bronson Methodist Hospital. Helen was born September 11, 1930, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the daughter of Henry and Ann DeBoer. She graduated from Ottawa Hills High School in 1948.

On May 31, 1951, she was married to Allan C. Bult. They were married for 42 years when Allan passed away in 1993. Also preceding in death was Helen's younger sister Norma, who passed away in 2015. During the 42 years of marriage, Al and Helen were blessed with 6 children – three sons and 3 daughters. The oldest son, Bruce, passed away from spinal meningitis just shy of his 2nd birthday. Helen was actively involved in the lives of her children, Steve Bult and Janie Thompson, Chris and Jack Leep (Jack passed away in 2006), Mary and Steve Baker, Jan and Jim Page, Jim and Colleen Bult; grandchildren, Catherine Bult, Jonathon Bult, Kelly (Jay) Allen, Jill (Brandon) Rosenboom, Kevin (Leah) Leep, Eric Izenbaard (passed away in 2016), Kaity (Ryan) Buder, Leah Baker, Tyler (Samantha) Page, Alyssa Page, Amylia Bult, Andrew Bult, Bryan Bult, Bethany Bult, Bretton Bult; great- grandchildren, Alanah Izenbaard, Aidan Allen (passed away in 2020), Arianna and Mariah Allen, Jack and Noelle Rosenboom, Parker Buder. Helen's 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren were a constant source of joy to her.

Helen was a long-time member of Westwood CRC and she used her God-given gift of music to bless many people through her piano and organ playing. Whether it was for church services, church choir, weddings, or funerals, her talent was appreciated by all who heard. She spent many years volunteering for the Deacon's Conference, Appalachia Reach Out, and the Food Pantry at Westwood church. She loved to knit and used her talents to start a knitting group that contributed hundreds of blankets for kidney dialysis patients.

A funeral service is scheduled for Friday, January 26 at 11:00 a.m. at Westwood Christian Reformed Church, 620 Northampton Road, Kalamazoo, Michigan. A light lunch will be provided following the service. Friends may meet the family prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Following the funeral service, a private interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
